Came on a Thursday afternoon 5ish, and have to say I really enjoyed the coffee and cake. The staff explained exactly what was in the cakes really like the atmosphere too, log pattern type bench. Perfect, and this was on a rainy day!
Some Food ok, but had to wait an hour for food,but others ordered 20min after us served first! then had to ask for a refund no offer of compensation. food then came under cooked not happy :( sort your queue vs orders out!
It used to be a good cafe place in Blackheath. But now it's just rundown. Unkind staff, poor quality, terrible coffee. Went back here other occasions but left with the same disappointment. Try somewhere else..
We had breakfast there few weeks ago. We enjoyed the baguette as we felt that, for UK standard, it is good. However, the place is so small that everytime you move, you either bumped into something or the people on the other table. I also think that the people working there should now a bit more about the food ob sale. It is a french bakery and when you order in the food using the french word, none of them understand! Also, the coffee wasn't great and the cup i was served in was chipped!However, my oh ordered a pain au chocolat and we both agreed that it was absolutely wonderful. We also bought madeleine, Amandines, Eclair and mille feuille for take away. The madeleine was not fresh and i think they are the worst madeleien we have ever had. The pastries, on the other hand, were quite nice, but a bit too sweet for our taste. Price wise, the cafe is a bit on the pricy side.
Unfortunately, my sister and I had a quite unpleasant experience at the cafe. I ordered a Cinnabon which came stale and a hot chocolate which tasted like melted chocolate and warm water. Quite frankly, the service was appalling.
